Dr. Alan Chang is a board certified Internist in the Graybill Escondido/Grand Avenue Office. He is focused on the healthcare needs of adults, from wellness and prevention, to chronic disease management, to geriatric care for older adults with complex needs. Dr. Chang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1991 from Stanford University, where he graduated with Honors and Distinction. He attended medical school at Dartmouth University (Hanover, NH) from 1991 through 1993, and at the University of Southern California from 1993 through 1995. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in 1998. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the San Diego County Medical Society, American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Kandan Baban is a board certified Osteopathic Physician specializing in Cardiology. She is located in the Escondido/Second Avenue Office. Dr. Baban practices cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment of valvular heart disease, and congestive heart failure management. She has a special interest in women’s heart disease prevention and management as well as non-invasive cardiology and non-interventional procedures. Dr. Baban received her B.S. degree in Microbiology from UCSD in 2002. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007, where she was awarded the Harbarger Award for Academic Excellence. She completed her residency program in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic and Green Hospital in 2010, and her fellowship in Cardiology also from Scripps Clinic and Green Hospital in 2015. She is certified by the American Board of Cardiology, the National Board of Echocardiography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has a diverse cultural background and also speaks Kurdish and Arabic, fluently.
Beginning July 6, we will be joined by Dr. Jared Brummel, a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon with special focus on Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy. Dr. Brummel specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries, disorders and diseases of the body’s musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves and tendons). He will be located in the Escondido/Second Avenue Office. Dr. Brummel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State University, Fullerton in 1999. He then attended San Diego State seeking a Masters of Public Health (MPH) in 2002. He earned his Osteopathic medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Erie, PA) in 2007. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in 2012 and his Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy Fellowship at the renowned Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia, in 2013. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics (AOAO), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
